Electric or Manual Golf Trolleys

Some folk are wondering which is better; carry your clubs, using manual golf trolleys or electric golf trolleys?

Looking back in time at golf played around 1930s -  Bobby Jones

Orignally people used to carry their golf clubs.  Look back at pictures of Harry Vardon,  Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen and notice the clubs and bags their caddy’s are carrying.  Count their clubs in the bag look at the size of their bags.

What would be in their bags? 7/8/9 clubs and very few waterproofs if any.

Things have progressed over the years, only a few decades back it was quite normal to buy a half set of golf clubs.  Then the introduction of manual pull trolleys due to the size of bags increasing all the time and the number of clubs to the regualtion 14.

Nowadays technology is moving forward and along most people having cars the average golfers have electric golf trolleys, no matter what age the golfer is, it is normal nowadays to own one.

Prototype golf trolley trial

Trying the new prototype golf trolley supplied with a powerful motor working a transverse drive and new larger battery tray. Results were pleasing and reliable with solid balance and control making an enjoyable experience. Quiet motor and ease of use with this new type golf trollley.

Pity the golf playing could have been better. Jim makes a triple bogey at the 5th on the Darley course out of nothing and a double at the par 5 6th. Poor 40-100 yard pitching was to blame for a poor outward nine of 43. David’s comment on the 10th definately helped concentration as one over inward nine was carded.

Poor George started great but a general downward trend which eventually led to a N/R at the 15th. Rumours are abound that George was seen floating down the Darley burn holding on to his clubs.

Winter golf

Playing golf in the winter used to look like the photo below. What has happened to the UK weather. I remember not long ago there was an article on the news talking about the sun has had an unprecedented length of NO activity and low sun activity leads to cold winters. The report was normally no activity lasts for a couple weeks but this was nine months. Do you think there is something in this?
